WHEN WE MOVED UP A READING LEVEL, I
FELT SO PROUD - AS IF IT WERE MY OWN
CHILD SUCCEEDING. IT IS SUCH A WARM AND
REWARDING EXPERIENCE TO BE A PART OF A
CHILD'S READING JOURNEY. I'D DO IT OVER
AND OVER AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT

I just had my final reading session with my student, who
has come so far over the last year. As we are saying our
goodbyes the student says: "I'll never forget you!" What
an incredible way to end such an amazing experience.

I love being an online reading volunteer with Chapter
One! It’s a really fulfilling 30 minutes of my week. So far
this year, I have had 14 sessions with my student. The
progress he has made over these sessions has been
amazing. Of course that's not all down to me, but I am
proud of the part I have played
