recruitment and retention strategies, emphasizing diverse board engagement.
Board Governance & Innovative Board Recruiting
This workshop explored creative techniques for recruiting and engaging diverse,
effective board members to foster board engagement. Generously sponsored by

Executive Director Supervisory Skills, Managing for Mutual Success
This workshop provided essential management skills for supervisors to enhance
decision-making, problem-solving, and staff engagement. Generously sponsored

Succession Planning for Nonprofits
The session covered succession planning, leadership development, and
provided a template for creating succession plans. Co-hosted with ACDS, presented

Community Health and Well-Being
Environmental Justice Workshop
This workshop addressed environmental and climate justice issues in Anne
Arundel County, focusing on legislation and strategies for overburdened
communities, with input from the Maryland League of Conservation Voters.
Adult Mental Health First Aid
This course taught participants how to support individuals with mental health
or substance abuse issues using the ALGEE action plan, offered both in-person
and virtually.
Youth Mental Health First Aid
This course was designed for adults interacting with youth to help respond to
mental health and substance use issues. It introduced common mental health
challenges for youth and a five-step action plan for helping young people.
Cultural and Community Engagement
Leading Teams with Intentionality Around Justice, Diversity, Equity,
and Inclusion
This workshop introduced organizational support for justice, diversity, equity,
and inclusion through inquiry and compassion. Co-hosted with ACDS, presented
in-person and virtually.
Passing the Torch: Legacy Building in the Black Community
This virtual session explored legacy building, wills, and philanthropy within the
Black community, focusing on intergenerational wealth transfer challenges and
opportunities.
