Discretionary fund Grant programs
The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County proudly distributed more than $6.5 million in
community grants last year, supporting diverse nonprofit organizations and enhancing the quality of life in
our community. By supporting CFAAC's Discretionary or Field of Interest Fund grant programs, donors can
help local nonprofits continue their impactful work. All contributions help ensure Anne Arundel County
remains a great place to live for all.
ARTS AND CULTURE ANNE Arundel FUND
COMMUNITY CRISIS RESPONSE FUND
This fund enhances the vibrancy and creativity of Anne
Arundel County by providing grants to nonprofits. These
grants enable economically challenged individuals and
families to experience and participate in various arts and
cultural activities, including visual, fine, decorative, and
folk arts, as well as literature and language programs.
This fund makes artistic experiences accessible to all and
fosters a vibrant community.
This fund provides flexible financial aid to local
nonprofits post-community crises. During COVID-19,
it disbursed nearly 300 rapid-response grants, totaling
over $2.7 million. Established after the 2018 Capital
Gazette shooting, this fund supports human services,
emergency assistance, health, mental health, and
educational resources during critical times.
Strengthening Nonprofits Fund
Fund for Anne Arundel
This fund supports Anne Arundel County nonprofits
by providing educational programs and training in
fundraising, management, board development, and
marketing. Over the past five years, it has facilitated
over 50 programs, benefiting more than 4,200 nonprofit
members and enhancing their effectiveness through
essential capacity-building opportunities.
The Fund for Anne Arundel (FFAA) aligns CFAAC’s
grantmaking with findings from its Community Needs
Assessment Report: Poverty Amidst Plenty VII. Supporting
nonprofits that address critical needs in Anne Arundel
County, especially for children and families, it has
granted more than $750,000 through 2023. Read more

HELP OUR NEIGHBORS FUND
This fund enables Anne Arundel County Public School
educators to implement innovative projects that enrich
student learning. With more than $100,000 funded
through nearly 250 projects, it empowers teachers to
inspire and engage students creatively, overcoming
traditional funding constraints.
This fund provides grants to local nonprofits for
emergency assistance in Anne Arundel County, covering
needs like rent, utilities, transportation, medication,
and medical care. More than $185,000 in grants have
been distributed, helping families stay housed, access
vital medications, and secure employment through
community support.
