2023 Scholarship Recipients

LCPL. ERIC HERZBERG, USMC and LCPL. WILLIAM
TAYLOR WILD, IV, USMC SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Lance Corporal Eric William Herzberg and Lance
Corporal William Taylor Wild IV Scholarship (HerzbergWild Scholarship) was established to honor two fallen
Marines, Eric W. Herzberg and Taylor Wild IV, who
were both Anne Arundel County residents. Successful
applicants demonstrated their adherence to the Marine
Corps values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment,
their ability to persist in the face of significant personal
obstacles, and their ability to provide quiet leadership
in their school and home community.
The following recipient received a $10,000 scholarship:
Tochi Anyanwu, Arundel High
School, plans to study Social Work
at Morgan State University.

amazing weight off my back and
has allowed me to focus on my
academics and having fun without
stressing about money.”
The following recipients each received $5,000 scholarships:
Timilyn Ibitokun, Glen Burnie
High School, plans to study
Computer Science and Cognitive
Science at Pomona College.
“I am honored and forever
grateful to be joining the many
students who have been able to
receive an education because of
the generosity of CFAAC. Thank
you so much for giving the gift of affordable education;
now I can successfully pursue a higher education degree
without financial burden.”

pursue my degree with half as much joy and motivation.

Elianna Coon, Southern
High School, plans to study
Criminology at Anne Arundel
Community College.

has impacted me tremendously. In
years of previous struggle to work
and attend school full time, I have
been able to experience my first
semester of college free of the anxiety associated with
paying for my schooling and other life expenses. I am
forever grateful!”
THE OFFICER GRANT TURNER MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Officer Grant Turner Memorial Scholarship Fund
was established after Officer Grant Turner of the
Maryland Transportation Authority Police passed away
just five weeks before graduation. The Fund serves as
a way to honor him and his love of baseball. The Fund
Advisors host one of the largest preseason baseball
tournaments in the state. The following recipients each
received $1,700 scholarships:
Tyler Bickel, South River High School, plans to study at
the United States Naval Academy.
Emily Gustie, Crofton High School, plans to study at
Bloomsburg University.
Alayna Morris, F.O.P. Lodge 34 MTAP, Queen Anne's
County High School, plans to study at Chesapeake College
