39. Getting On The Radar
This has become a very important practice, as the number
of film submissions competing for the same spots for
many of the top festivals continues to increase. Many
festivals have a screening process that includes some
combination of film students, volunteers, and
knowledgable film fans. Having been on that side of the
table, I know that some of the screeners don’t catch all the
gems. And some don’t watch all the way through. It can
really help a film’s case if they catch the attention of the
paid programmers. There are many different ways to
