Manatee Against Taxation was the second
political committee which was instrumental in
defeating the 2013 proposed increase in the
sales tax in Manatee County to fund
healthcare. There are only two donors to
Manatee Against Taxation, each illustrating an
interesting point.
First, while Eric Robinson says he is just the
accountant and has no personal interest in
influencing the election outcome, his
accounting firm donated $50,000 to Manatee
Against Taxation and was paid $54,591.22 for
accounting services.
Second, the rest of the funding for Manatee
Against Taxation came from another committee
administered by Robinson: Committee to
