Eric Robinson (not a Manatee County
resident) was the registered agent, chair
and treasurer Manatee for Common
Cents, as well as Manatee Against
Taxation, two PACs funding political ads
against the tax. Robinson served as the
chair of Sarasota’s Republican Party and
lives in Sarasota County in Venice. At the
time Robinson insisted he was not trying
to influence the election in Manatee
County , but said “I’m just doing my job”.
Eric Robinson is an accountant.
Yet, Mr. Robinson’s accounting firm was
the largest donor to “Manatee for
Common Cents”, putting $10,000 into a
fund which totaled $14,400. Mr.
Robinson’s firm was paid $5,000 for
