Branca Ticking
woven Fabric
Repeat: 1 5⁄32”H
Width: 59”
Content: 100% Linen
Since Sister Parrish famously popularized classic ticking in the mid-20th century,
the stripe found its way from a utilitarian 16th-century French fabric used to cover
straw or feather mattresses, to everyone’s favorite counterpoint for florals, chintz, or
contrasting solids. Our ticking playfully recalls men’s shirting, with a refined hand
from the best weavers in Italy in a twill linen weave, rather than traditional cotton,
for a uniquely special hand and feel.
For upholstery, play with contrasting stripes, florals and paisley, or on window treatments as panels or flat Roman
shades. On lampshades, try laminating and orienting as a horizontal stripe, or hand gathered as a vertical stripe.
When you love something as much as we love our Branca Ticking, you find all the ways and places to use it!
