Maersk strengthens presence in Colombia with
new logistics centre in Bogota
M
aersk has strengthened
its presence in Colombia
with the inauguration of
a cutting-edge container logistics
center in the Tocancipa industrial
zone, just north of Bogota. Spanning 44,000 sq mt, this facility aims
to enhance supply chain reliability
by minimising port and transport
costs while eliminating customer
waiting times through consistent
availability of empty containers.
This operational e昀케ciency ensures
prompt responsiveness to demand
昀氀uctuations.
Key features of the logistics
centre include a 3,378 sq mt depot,
a 23,000 sq mt container storage
area, and a 651 sq mt. refrigerated container section capable
of handling 50 containers. With
a capacity to manage up to 1,600
containers, the centre is equipped
with advanced depot management
systems and o昀昀ers services such
as container loading/unloading,
cargo handling, storage, and onsite reach stackers. In line with
sustainable practices, Maersk
incorporates recycled construction materials, LED, and solar
perimeter lighting, underscoring
its environmental commitment.
The center further provides comprehensive services like container
maintenance, repair, consolidation,
and deconsolidation, enhancing
logistical 昀氀exibility for customers.
MAHB signs MoU with
CHAGC for air cargo
expansion
M
alaysia Airports Holdings (MAHB) has
signed an MoU with China Henan Aviation
Group to enhance air cargo connectivity
and logistics between Malaysia and China, aiming
to strengthen trade relations between the two
countries. This strategic partnership seeks to
improve the e昀케ciency and expand the reach of both
airport operators by establishing new air cargo
routes between Zhengzhou Xinzheng International
Airport (CGO) and Kuala Lumpur International
Airport (KUL), solidifying KUL's position as a key
regional logistics hub and facilitating smoother
trade links between Europe and Malaysia.
To initiate this collaboration, Raya Airways will
commence three weekly cargo 昀氀ights between KUL
and CGO starting in August. Additionally, China
Southern has already launched daily commercial
昀氀ights between the two airports from June 21, further
enhancing air connectivity between Malaysia and
China. In addition to route expansions, the partnership will focus on enhancing infrastructure at KUL
to support transshipment and re-export activities.
Leveraging CHAGC's expertise, MAHB anticipates
signi昀椀cant improvements to KUL's cargo capabilities,
bolstering Malaysia's role in global trade.

will be based at Nantong Xingdong International Airport and

enhances JD Airlines’ capacity to
meet the rising demand for
e-commerce and express deliveries, bolstering its logistics
