Construction Requirements
The following construction requirements underpin successful construction in Camden to ensure the design
intent is delivered for the building. These principles must be included in the construction documentation
and be a part of the construction delivery for every newly built and updated existing built space within the
Camden LGA.

Include inspection
points within
documentation for
construction to ensure
that the quality of
workmanship is
checked regularly
by the Contract
Administrator and that
the building is suitable
for purpose. No work is
to proceed beyond any
inspection point until
the work is executed to
the satisfaction of the
Contract Administrator.
Where a trade name,
brand or catalogue
number is referred
to in the documents
for construction,
the Contractor may
substitute similar
material or equipment
provided that in the
opinion of the Contract
Administrator the
characteristics of
type, quality, finish,
appearance, method
of construction and
performance are
not less than that
specified, and are
accepted as suitable
by the Contract
Administrator.
It is the Contractor's
responsibility to keep a
detailed and organised
photographic record
of pre-existing
conditions, as well
as all completed
structural and services
works, particularly
where the element
will be permanently
concealed.

Such acceptance shall
not be anticipated
because of a similar
approval having been
given in a previous
contract.
AS
OPERATION &
CONSTRUCTED MAINTENANCE
DRAWINGS
MANUALS
Ensure that
information for the
location of in-ground
services and other
constructed works are
accurately recorded
as construction
progresses.
Require that all as
constructed drawings
are submitted by the
Contractor in hard
copy and digital pdf as
well as dwg formats.
As constructed
drawings are a
condition of Practical
Completion.
Review all of the
information in the as
constructed drawings
and confirm that it
is correct prior to
accepting that the as
constructed drawings
are suitable.
Ensure that information
for all of the services
and equipment relating
to the operation
and maintenance of
the Public Building
is collated in one
place. Prepare a
written schedule for
the operation and
maintenance for all
of the services and
equipment installed in
the Public Building.
Require that all
Operation and
Maintenance Manuals
are submitted in
hard copy and digital
pdf as well as doc
formats. Operation and
Maintenance Manuals
are a condition of
Practical Completion.
