USE OF SPACE
CAPACITY
The Area for Teams to Gather
Specific to Building
DESCRIPTION OF SPACE
A space dedicated for use by players to gather for game preparation and discussion.
To provide a fully enclosed area that has the ability for multiple players, their coaches and associated
parties to use before, during and after games played on an associated Sports Field.
Depending on the level and use of the facility there may be a requirement for up to 4 change rooms
to accommodate male and female use at same time – noting that all changerooms should be
interchangeable for genders.
The area required for bench space and ancillary facilities may vary depending on the sport
that the building is designed to support. For instance, cricketers with long kit bags for their
larger size kit will require more space to prepare than those preparing to play a game of
tennis.
This space is required to be extremely hard wearing.
Ensure that there is not a line of sight from outside the entry to the Change Room to the Internal
Layout of the Change Room by incorporating a wall switchback or similar.
Ensure that all spaces designated as shower cubicles are concealed for individual privacy. A shared
shower space is not suitable.
It is important that the Referees Room is located away from the players Change Rooms. For
instance, at opposite end of the building.
