Using the CPBDM

The CPBDM provides detailed guidance and minimum standard design requirements for all Public Buildings
within the Camden LGA.
PUBLIC BUILDINGS
Section 2 of this Design Manual describes requirements for all Public Buildings and includes the
following sections which are applicable to all public building types:
Design Principles
Construction Requirements
Design Guidelines
COMMON PUBLIC BUILDING TYPES
Sections 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of the CPBDM describe common public building types and contains the
following information. All requirements should be further developed and refined by designers in
conjunction with the Camden Council to ensure the public building design is specific to individual
scenarios including user group and location.
Definition of the Building Type
The definition of Building Type provides an overview of the building type included within that section.
Schedule of Areas
The Schedule of Areas outlines all of the spaces to be incorporated in the Building Type.
Data Sheets - Appendix A to D
The Data Sheets describe the requirements of each space in detail within the Building Type.
Construction Details - Appendix E
Provides typical construction details applicable to all Public Building types.
Parts Schedule - Appendix F
Provides parts schedules applicable to all Public Building types.
Checklists - Appendix G
The Checklists are to be completed and submitted to the Camden Council as part of the review process.

from the Camden Public Domain Design Principles.
− Construction Requirements Checklist – this list aims to summarise where the public building complies
and differs from the Camden Public Domain Construction Requirements.
