Barbecue and Picnic Settings
− One waste station (two garbage bins) should be provided adjacent to each barbeque setting.
− One garbage bin should be provided within close proximity of each picnic setting.
Provision for Dog Off-Leash Areas
− One garbage bin should be provided outside each entry point.
− All bins should have an attached dog waste bag dispenser.
5.4.18 Edging
Where possible the design should avoid excessive use of edging treatments and utilise paths and other
hard landscape treatments to provide garden bed or lawn edging.
− Camden Council does not accept timber edging as it is not sufficiently durable.
− Brick, sandstone, concrete and steel edging are acceptable. Other quality materials that are hard-wearing,
aesthetically appealing and sustainably sourced can be considered.
− Spade-edging is the preferred treatment for around trees in lawn.
− In playgrounds, where possible a 500 millimetre buffer is be provided between an edge and the required
fall zone.
− For further information refer to CSLD.
