5.4.12 Public Art
Public Art in an open space should be designed in accordance with the Camden Council Public Art
Policy. The theme of the artwork should represent ‘place’. Public art in an open space area provides an
opportunity to interpret the history and culture of the site.
Public art must be:
− Integrated and integral to the overall quality and function of the space;
− Relevant and responsive to the site and function; and
− The materials and finishes must be robust. The artwork must be designed and located to withstand the
conditions of the site and must not be applied to an element that will need to be replaced in the future.
