− Provide variation of seating types (individual and group) at regular intervals on the orientation path and in
quiet areas for retreat to ensure everyone has appropriate rest options;
− Playgrounds should cater for a range of seating types including varying heights, backrests, armrests.
− Appropriate locations will be assessed based on community demand, safety through passive supervision
and maintenance factors;
− Consideration is to be given to CPTED principles in relation to seating placement so as to allow natural
surveillance of the open space and not attract anti-social behaviour. Refer to section Safety for further
information; and
