4.1Construction RequirementsThe following Construction Requirements underpin successful construction in Camden to ensure thedesign intent is delivered for the open space project. These principles must be included in the constructiondocumentation and be a part of the construction delivery for every newly built and updated existing openspace within the Camden LGA.INSPECTIONPOINTSTRADENAMESInclude inspectionpoints withindocumentation forconstruction to ensurethat the quality ofworkmanship ischecked regularlyby the ContractAdministrator and thatthe built works aresuitable for purpose.No work is to proceedbeyond any inspectionpoint until the workis executed to thesatisfaction of theContract Administrator.Where a trade name,brand or cataloguenumber is referredto in the documentsfor construction,the Contractor maysubstitute similarmaterial or equipmentprovided that in theopinion of the ContractAdministrator thecharacteristics oftype, quality, finish,appearance, methodof construction andperformance arenot less than thatspecified, and areaccepted as suitableby the ContractAdministrator.It is the Contractorsresponsibility to keep adetailed and organisedphotographic recordof pre-existingconditions, as wellas all completedstructural and servicesworks, particularlywhere the elementwill be permanentlyconcealed.PAGE 42Such acceptance shallnot be anticipatedbecause of a similarapproval having beengiven in a previouscontract.ASOPERATION &CONSTRUCTED MAINTENANCEDRAWINGSMANUALSEnsure thatinformation for thelocation of in-groundservices and otherconstructed works areaccurately recordedas constructionprogresses.Require that all asconstructed drawingsare submitted by theContractor in hardcopy and digital pdf aswell as dwg formats.As constructeddrawings are acondition of PracticalCompletion.Review all of theinformation in the asconstructed drawingsand confirm that itis correct prior toaccepting the asconstructed drawingsare suitable.Ensure that informationfor all of the servicesand equipment relatingto the operation andmaintenance of openspace works are collatedin one place. Preparea written schedulefor the operationand maintenancerequirements for allof the services andequipment installed inopen space works.Require that allOperation andMaintenance Manualsare submitted inhard copy and digitalpdf as well as docformats.
