Keep it local
Local suppliers and services will bring knowledge,
passion and ‘know how’ that are unique to the
National Park. This minimises the carbon footprint,
boosts the local economy and brings a community
vibe. ‘Made in the Cairngorms’ goodies will let your
walkers, runners and bikers take a genuine bit
of the Cairngorms home with them.
Use digital media
- go print free where you can
Use QR codes to share PDFs, digital brochures, contact
information, educational information, and more sustainable, portable on mobile phones and easy to edit and
update. QR codes only take minutes to make.
Reusing, recycling
and waste disposal
Seek out vendors who use sustainable products,
packaging, cleaning supplies and avoid single use
plastic. Prioritise waste management and recycling ask your suppliers about their policies.
Do the maths
- and Offset your surplus
Taking steps to reduce the carbon footprint of your
event is excellent - but you may still be in a surplus.
You can offset what you can’t reduce by ‘offsetting’.
This can be a useful tool to ensure your event is carbon
neutral. A carbon calculator will allow you to do the
maths and calculate if you have a carbon surplus.
