ITINERARY
Day 1: Sunday 19 May – Auckland to Tokyo
Day 4: Wednesday 22 May – Tokyo to Osaka
08:45am Depart Auckland – Air New Zealand
4:50pm Arrive Tokyo, Narita Airport
We will transfer this morning to Tokyo Central Station, where you can
purchase a bento box lunch to eat on the train. Our high-speed Bullet
train will see us arriving in Osaka in 2.5 hours where we will be met by
our guide and taken on an afternoon tour including Osaka Castle,
Kurumon Ichiba shopping street, and a Dotonbori Street tour. We will
arrive at the hotel around 5:00pm. We’ll dine out tonight at a local
restaurant near the hotel for Okonomiyaki or a similar Japanese meal.
We will be met on arrival by our local guide and transferred by small
coach to central Tokyo and our hotel for three nights. After settling in
we will meet for dinner at the hotel

Day 2: Monday 20 May – Tokyo Tour
Day 5: Thursday 23 May – Kyoto full day tour from Osaka.
Assemble in the lobby this morning at 08:50am to our guide for
today’s tour which will include an Imperial Palace Tour, Askakusa
Temple, Nakamise Shopping street, Meiji Jingu Shrine and Shinjuku
and Harajuku areas. We will stop for a lunch break in Shinjuku (not
included).
This morning we had out of Osaka to Kyoto, the historical capital of
Japan. Kyoto is famous for its historic sites, stunning gardens and
peaceful park settings. We will visit the Kyoto Imperial Palace, and
Nijo-Jo Castle, The Golden Pavillion and the Kiyomizu-dera buddhist
temple. We will take lunch in a local restaurant (included) and return
to our hotel in Osaka around 6:00pm. Evening free.
After returning to the hotel around 6:00pm for a refresh we will head
out to a local Yakiniku BBQ restaurant near the hotel for dinner
(included)
Day 3: Tuesday 21 May – Tokyo – Morning tour
Day 6: Friday 24 May - Osaka
This morning’s tour will take in the Tokyo Tower area then the Tsukiji
Fish Market. We’ll head to a local restaurant for a seafood lunch
before returning to the hotel at around 1:30pm. The rest of the
afternoon and evening is free.
Today is a free day in Osaka. This evening meet your fellow cruise
passengers who will also be staying at the Hilton Hotel. Join for a social
evening with other voyagers and expedition guides over dinner at the
hotel. (included)
Day 7: Saturday 25 May - Kobe
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before exploring Kobe, opportunities
include visiting Pure Water Temple Kiyomizudera, one of Japan’s most
revered temples and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, built
over the Otowa Waterfall and dating back to 780. Enjoy lunch at a
local restaurant before exploring Buddhist temple Sanjusangen-do or
Rengeo-in, renowned for its 1,001 statues of the goddess of mercy
Kannon, and the ultimate torii gate experience Fushimi Inari Shrine,
dedicated to the gods of rice and sake.
This afternoon board Heritage Adventurer in Kobe where your Captain
and Expedition Team will welcome you aboard. We sail overnight.
