The last section of the day is cycling from Alexandra to Clyde
which will take approx. 1 hour 15 minutes on an E-Bike (8km).
Between Alexandra and Clyde, you will pass through a semi-rural
landscape of orchards, vineyards and lifestyle blocks. You will
cycle over the wooden trestle Muttontown Viaduct - 109m long
and 9 metres high. You will onish the Otago Central Rail Trail at the
Clyde Rail Head. From here you will cycle 2km into the township
of Clyde.
At 4pm you are booked in for a private tour and wine tasting at
Monte Christo Winery. You will begin your tasting in their cellar
door where your dedicated host will share some of their unique
history before escorting you to the private tasting room. Once
settled, you will be guided through an in-depth tasting of their
portfolio, including their most exclusive limited-production
subregional Pinot Noirs.
Day 6: Tuesday 29th October
Clyde to Queenstown Airport /Auckland
Cycling on: Cromwell Historic Trail
This morning you will be departing from the Central Cycle Trail
Clyde Depot at 9.30am, where you will leave your luggage for
the day. A shuttle will drop you of in the Old Cromwell Precinct.
You will be cycling from Pisa Moorings to Carrick Vineyard, this
will take approx. 45 minutes (10km). Following the Kawarau arm
of Lake Dunstan to the Bannockburn bridge, you will have
amazing vista's across the lake to the Bannockburn vineyards.
Along the way there are sections where the land has been
reshaped in the search for gold and then again when the lake
was formed.
We have arranged a winery tour and tasting at Carrick Vineyard,
this will be followed by a platter style lunch. Carrick Winery is
situated on the stunning Bannockburn Inlet, ofering an
unrivalled range of venues and menus to suit your needs. From
award-winning cuisine to casual food experiences, their food is
carefully crafted to complement their estate-grown, organically
farmed wines.
After lunch you will be picked up by Central Cycle Trail Company
and taken back to Queenstown Airport for your night back to
Auckland. They will have your luggage with them.

7.10pm Arrive Auckland
