Buntingford First School
Overview
Buntingford First School is Hertfordshire's first zero carbon school,
proving a high quality education for children between the ages of 3
and 9.
The vision for Buntingford First School is to produce responsible young people, of
whom we can all be proud, who have achieved more than they ever believed
possible and who will make a contribution to their local, national and indeed global
communities. Pastoral and academic systems will work together to ensure that
pupils receive an education as personalised to their talents and needs as possible,
developing the leaders of the future. Our overarching vision is to found a school
which will exemplify outstanding early years and primary practice, evidenced by
outstanding attainment and progress for all children. From the outset we wish to
ensure that all the work of the school is underpinned by shared values and
ambitions.
Buntingford First School
Children who receive an education at Buntingford First School will leave ready to
make their mark on the world, and pupil voice will shape the future of the organisation
itself. Staff at all levels will listen very carefully to what the pupils say and take action
as a result. Oracy will be at the heart of developing our pupils’ ability to express their
views and we will set up a school cabinet involving pupils as a vehicle for these
opinions. Buntingford First School will set the pace, in terms of pupil contributions to
educational improvement, as part of its constant drive for excellence. Pupils with
strong views about important issues such as sustainability and charity will be
encouraged to join, and even set up, clubs and groups, to help bring about change
for the better in the community.
