Slow Cooker Apple Butter
Serves: ~3 cups | Prep Time: 10 mins | Total Time: 11 to 12 hrs
This apple butter has just the perfect amount of sweetness and spice.

| 5 lbs. apples (~12 apples)
1. Core and roughly chop the apples.
| 10 ml (2 tsp) cinnamon
2. Place apples in slow cooker and add spices and water.
| 1/4 tsp ground cloves (optional)
| 1/4 tsp allspice (optional)
| 60 ml (1/4 cup) water
3. Cover and cook on low for 9 to 10 hours.
4. Use an immersion blender or transfer apple mixture to a
blender and blend until smooth.
5. Reset slow cooker to high and continue cooking for 2 more
hours. Leave the lid partially open to allow some moisture
to escape (this helps thicken the mixture). Stir every 30 to
45 minutes to ensure the apple butter doesn’t burn on the
bottom of the slow cooker.
6. Let cool and store apple butter in jars in the refrigerator.
