Oaty Chia Breakfast Bars
Serves: 16 | Prep Time: 10 mins | Total Time: 35 mins
These chia seed oat bars are very filling, making them a perfect «grab and go» breakfast item!

| 90 g (1 cup) quick-cooking oats
1. In a medium bowl, mix the oats, chia seeds and cinnamon.
| 90 g (1 cup) rolled oats
2. Add the butter, applesauce and honey. Mix to combine.
| 30 ml (2 tbsp) chia seeds
3. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Press the mixture into
the bottom so that it is an even layer, around 1.5 to 2cm thick.
| 7,5 ml (11⁄2 tsp) cinnamon
| 30 ml (2 tbsp) melted butter
| 250 ml (1 cup) applesauce
4. Bake at 375°F for 25 mins, or until firm, not hard.
5. Cool and slice into squares.
| 60 ml (1⁄4 cup) of honey or
maple syrup
Chia seeds are loaded with fibre, protein
and omega-3 fatty acids.
