built in 1870 that features an 1896 Lancashire
Marshall organ.

4. Easterseals Central Illinois
Thursday, January 23

For 100 years, Easterseals Central Illinois has
helped children with developmental delays and
disabilities reach their full potential. Through its
dedicated team of physicians, therapists, and
staff, Easterseals offers services from six locations,
including pediatric specialty service centers in
Peoria and Bloomington, Easterseals Learning
Academy in Germantown Hills, Timber Pointe
Outdoor Center on Lake Bloomington, and two
Children and Family Connection Centers. Join
OLLI as we learn about the Easterseals mission,
the range of services it provides, and the amazing
goals and milestones that are realized each day
through its Peoria and Bloomington centers.

5. WTVP PBS
Friday, January 24
8:45 a.m. 3 1:30 p.m.
Experience a behind-the-scenes look at Peoria9s
local public television station as we take a private
tour of WTVP9s downtown studio. We9ll learn
how the studio was designed by world-renowned
studio creators Rees & Associates, how it was
engineered to be soundproof and rock-solid
against any vibration, and how it features a stateof-the-art lighting system constructed by Grand
Stage of Chicago. Participants will also step onto
the stage where local programs such as At Issue
with Mark Welp and Consider This with Christine
Zak-Edmonds are produced. President and CEO,
Jenn Gordon, will also be on hand to answer all
your questions and share more about the exciting
work WTVP PBS is doing daily to educate, inspire,
and connect our community here in Central Illinois.

6. Heading Avenue Franciscan Motherhouse
Wednesday, January 29
8:45 a.m. 3 1:30 p.m.
On this trip, the Sisters of St. Francis of the
Immaculate Conception will host OLLI members
at the Heading Avenue Franciscan Motherhouse
Convent. The order began in 1891 and served its
members as teachers in the diocesan orphanage
in Metamora. The motherhouse has been located
on Heading Avenue in West Peoria since 1912. The
Sisters, an evangelical religious congregation of
the Roman Catholic Church, dedicate themselves
to ministries of service, primarily in the dioceses
of Peoria and Spring昀eld, Illinois. Our visit will
include a history of the community and a tour of
parts of the 104-year-old building.

7. Advanced Medical Transport
Monday, February 3
8:45 a.m. 3 1:30 p.m.
Join us for a tour of Advanced Medical Transport
(AMT), a private, not-for-pro昀t company that
serves the people of more than 60 communities
throughout Central Illinois. During our visit, we
will learn about the state-of-the-art equipment
that dispatches the ambulances, get a closeup look inside an ambulance, and tour one of
the most high-tech classrooms in the area. In
addition, we will 昀nd out how AMT’s nurses,
paramedics, emergency medical technicians,
and dispatchers provide medical services to 昀re
protection districts, townships, municipalities,
counties, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities,
physicians’ of昀ces, and public events.

8. Peoria County Courthouse
Friday, February 7
8:45 a.m. 3 2:00 p.m.
Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of the
Peoria County Courthouse, led by Chief Circuit
Judge Kate Gorman. This unique experience
will offer an insider9s look at the courthouse9s
rich history and the daily workings of the judicial
system including the State Attorney’s Of昀ce,
Public Defender, and Circuit Clerk’s Of昀ces.
Don9t miss this chance to engage with one of
Peoria9s esteemed judges and gain a deeper
understanding of our local legal processes.
