8. Lifestyle Lessons from The Blue Zones

Peoria Next Innovation Center
Together we9ll explore lifestyle factors that
contribute to longevity, such as diet, exercise,
and community engagement. Participants will
be expected to obtain and read The Blue Zones
Secrets for Living Longer: Lessons From the
Healthiest Places on Earth, which features lessons
learned from areas around the world, top longevity
foods, and the behaviors to help you live to 100.
We9ll also discuss the new research regarding the
data - is it 昀awed or misinterpreted? Participants
will be asked to research a topic related to our
discussion. Together we9ll take a look at how we
can use the idea of the Blue Zones as a source of
inspiration to live a healthier life.

9. Mindful Movement:
Yoga, Tai Chi, and Meditation

Bradley University
Explore the foundations of three ancient practicesyoga, tai chi, and meditation. This group offers
a comprehensive introduction to holistic wellbeing. We9ll discover Tai Chi and Qigong a practice
characterized by slow, mindful movements. We9ll
discover Taiji and Quigong, a practice rooted in
slow, energy-gentle movements. We9ll also have
a session devoted to meditation, where we9ll
experience a sound bath of tones and vibrations
tuned to resonate with speci昀c chakras, along with
techniques to quiet the mind. Whether you9re a
beginner or looking to deepen your practice, these
sessions will help you feel centered, balanced,
and refreshed. Participants should come dressed
for movement and will be expected to stand, sit,
and lie on mats during the sessions, which will be
held in the second level exercise room at Markin
Recreation facility on Bradley9s campus.
