Presidential Lives In Transition

What is it like to be an ex-President? How does
one transition from wielding immense power to
昀nding a new purpose as a citizen? Join us as
we explore the lives of seven U.S. Presidents after
their terms in of昀ce. Each changed history and
offered valuable lessons about how to decide what
to do in the next chapter of life. We anticipate
lively and thought-provoking discussions on
Thomas Jefferson, John Quincy Adams, Grover
Cleveland, William Howard Taft, Herbert Hoover,
Jimmy Carter, and George W. Bush. We will use
Jared Cohen9s compelling book, Life After Power,
as the framework for our discussions. Please plan
to obtain and read the book, which is available at
local and online bookstores, and local libraries.

Don9t miss this unique opportunity to engage in
conversations with our local artistic talent. Each
week, we9ll meet two women artists, each working
in a different medium. They will share what
motivates them as artists, the life journeys that
have shaped their creative paths, and how they
view their role in the world. Together, we9ll explore
why each artist chooses her speci昀c discipline,
what inspires her subject matter, and what she
hopes her artistic legacy will be. Each artist will
bring examples of her work to discuss and provide
insight into her creative process.
