READER’S PICTURE
FAMOUS Neil the Seal is
back! But this time the
community is at pains to
protect his location, to avoid
him being stressed out by
those wanting to get close.
Last year at Dunalley he
became world news.
One such local is
Saltwater’s Jules Witek who
took this photo and has the
distinction of have been at
Neil’s birth on the Peninsula
in 2020.
After 昀椀rst relaxing and
moulting on a local road,
Neil is now in a safer place
and even has an electric
fence nearby to keep dogs
and people at a respectable
distance until he returns to
the water.

Saltwater River.
