Participating in prospect screenings: Sharing information you
may know about a prospect’s capacity or your knowledge
about his or her interests in other philanthropic causes or
organizations

Staying informed through regular communication with your
development officer, communicating your progress as well as
being aware of relevant prospect assignments

Knowing how prospects would like to engage with the
university, including whether they would be interested in:

Volunteering or serving on committees or boards

Attending a briefing session with volunteers and
academic leadership

Visiting campus for an event such as lectures,
athletic events, or award programs
