Boise State University honors our longtime friend, board member and Bronco Ernie Hoidal, who
passed on September 20, 2022. Ernie’s dedication to Boise State and the success of our students
was clear through his volunteerism and student advocacy. A generous donor to the university, he
also served as the president of the Bronco Athletic Association and on the Boise State Foundation
board of directors. He and his wife, Carol, financially supported Boise State Athletics and several
college programs and founded the Ernest & Carol Hoidal Alumni Business Scholarship and the Carol
and Ernest Hoidal Nursing Scholarship. He will be remembered fondly.
