AUTOLUS
Drift Energy is a cutting edge company that uses sailing vessels
to harvest energy from the ocean and produce green hydrogen
to be used as a global energy source.Its yachts use underwater
turbines to capture energy from the ocean's tradewinds with
the energy used to produce and store green hydrogen in an onboard electrolyser. The goal of the company is to help accelerate
the hydrogen economy and aid in the energy transition. They
believe their technology is a new class of renewable energy
that is more viable in more places, produces more power, and is
simpler to maintain than other renewable energy sources.
Judges were amazed by the work of Autolus which is applying
their extensive programming capabilities to develop advanced cell
therapies that have the potential to deliver life-changing therapies
to patients with cancer and autoimmune diseases. In Herts they
have now opened a remarkable 70,000sq feet commercial manufacturing facility in Stevenage.
