A Letter
from our Editor
A
ugust may be seen as a time for
some rest, relaxation and the
chance to regroup on what the
year has handed us so far.
But it’s not certain that 2024 will follow
the same pattern, despite its introduction
with some remarkably hot weather!
Politics has changed in the country
and with it there is a fresh emphasis on
business to show just what a vital cog we
are in the wheel of both UK PLC, but in our
communities as well.
"There is clearly more
to come but make no
mistake the handbrake
won’t be coming off
this month"
And closer to home we have also seen
action and some remarkable impetus. The
launch of Hertfordshire Futures was a case
in point.
It has put the county both at the centre
of the region for development but also
staked a claim to national recognition
for all elements of hi-tech business and
regeneration. There is clearly more to
come but make no mistake the handbrake
won’t be coming off this month.
And as small business owners prepare for
the rush to Christmas which is traditional
from September onwards, many are
already setting targets, reaching out to
new clients and preparing to complete
existing orders.
Yes, time away from business is crucial for
our own well being, but there is a sense
this year that organisations need to be
alive to the opportunities all the time.
