The Business Voice is so important
I
have long held the opinion that the
“Business Voice” is essential to our
society. The activities of all our hardworking businesspeople create such
significant and strategic advantages for
everyone based in our wonderful Country.
The inclusion of the business voice within
local government is crucial for fostering
economic growth, enhancing community
development, and ensuring that policies
are aligned with the needs of both the
business community and the broader
public. There are some significant benefits
and ways to evolve and develop the
“business voice” in local government and I
have detailed these on page 24.
The business voice in local government
is essential for creating vibrant, resilient,
and prosperous communities. By actively
engaging businesses in policymaking
and development processes, local
governments can ensure that policies
are responsive to economic realities
and community needs. Evolving this
relationship requires continuous dialogue,
collaboration, and innovation, ultimately
leading to a more dynamic and sustainable
local economy.

and prosperous
communities"
My personal voluntary experience with the
Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership
for the past eleven years and my work
with the Stevenage Development Board
this past four years has provided me with
the experience and I am delighted to take
the role as Chair of Hertfordshire Futures
part of Hertfordshire County Council to
continue my support for this concept.
Please see our further details about the
recent launch of Hertfordshire Futures on
