Give Back Fund
$ 5 ,6 1 0, 1 3 9
As a profit for purpose business, we are driven to preserve and protect the environment and give
back to the communities we live in. We started the BioPak Give Back Fund in 2012 and since have
dedicated our time, energy and a total of $5,610,139
Emissions Reduction
When our products end up in
landfill, the carbon emissions
they release represent 60% of
their total lifecycle footprint. We
are working on an emissions
reduction roadmap which will
see us invest in local projects
that help divert packaging and
food waste from landfills. We
are also working to reduce our
operations and supply chain
emissions.
25,522,812 Tonnes
of Plastic Avoided
At BioPak, we champion
the transition to a circular
economy with industry-leading
products, made from plants.
Our product range is made
from renewable materials and
certified compostable. Since
2010, we avoided 22,720,685
tonnes of plastic together with
our customers.
18,285 Trees Planted
We are passionate about
forest protection and
restoration, and donate 1%
of profits as part of this fund
to support Rainforest Rescue
in Australia and Green Fleet
in New Zealand. Since 2010,
we've planted 153,101 trees.
Greenfleet
Greenfleet is a leading not-for-profit organisation committed to
protecting our climate by restoring forests in New Zealand and
Australia by capturing carbon emissions and restoring biodiversity.
We are donating 1% of our profits to GreenFleet for their New
Zealand projects, such as Atiu Creek or Te Muri.
Product Stewardship
BioPak’s new product stewardship scheme for organic
waste and compostable packaging, Compost Connect,
was awarded a national grant to reduce waste going
to landfills, lift recycling rates and help foodservice
businesses and consumers make a practical, positive
difference for the environment.
