are adapted to the local environment. Native plants
require less water, are more likely to survive drought
conditions, and are more pest and disease tolerant
than non-native species
• Relying on rainwater to irrigate landscaping. This
is the most cost-effective and water-saving option,
made possible with the use of native and droughttolerant plants.
