The message is, all people are welcome in, and
welcome in to use whatever helps their jobs or
enhances their colleagues’ lives.
This mix of different users of the workplace
reflects what has changed in society. The
traditional occupiers of insurance, law, and
finance are still there, but they now occupy
the building differently, while the overall
tenant make-up has shifted dramatically, to
include, among others, science, research, tech,
education, and health. Together, the focus is
on providing the best workspace for those who
work and visit these buildings.
You are the ones leading this, shaping the
office sector of the future, creating the places
for everyone to work and enjoy, and be at their
best. Showing the industry what you have
achieved, inspiring them to what they can aim
for will help lead the way.
This is why anyone considering entering the
2025 Awards, should look at the winners from
this year, from 2024. Can you see what they
have done, and is this what you can, or are
doing?
Can you take lessons, ideas, innovations from
past winners, and apply these to your project,
even if it is still in the design or planning stage,
or under construction? Are you looking for
ideas on how maximise health and wellbeing,
technology, or social value, supporting those
communities around?
To see what clever design looks like, and how
it lasts, we highlight our Test of Time winners
to show why they are wonderful examples
of places to work. Could yours be the same?
Overall, always remember, that a building is
nothing without people and as people grow
and evolve, so too should the places they work.
We wish you good fortune and the respect you
deserve, and we want to see your entry for
2025, in the hope that you shall be on the stage
at next year’s BCO Award’s lifting your trophy
high to a grand ballroom full of your peers.
