PSYCH-SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT COURSES
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE COURSES
The process of Psych-Spiritual Development is a uniquely
personal journey of self-awareness and transformation. The
Psych-Spiritual Development courses provide the support for
each student to go deeper into
themselves than they have ever
gone before.
These classes also provide the
environment in which one can
become more real, more truthful,
and more oneself. Students are
invited to join us in developing a
new relationship to self, to
others, to the spiritual realm, to
life task, and to core essence.
The curriculum that supports this
transformation includes the
following areas of study:
The Professional Practice curriculum supports students in the
transition from student healer to having a professional
healing practice after graduation.
Studies in this area invoke a new depth
of integrity, define standards and parameters
of professional conduct, establish a code
of healer ethics, and initiate continuing
dialogue with other healthcare professionals.
The Professional Practice curriculum
addresses the following areas to support
the development of the healing professional:
Psych-Spiritual Development Skills and Psychodynamics
of the Human Energy-Consciousness System
• Stages of human growth and development in the Human
Energy Field
Ethics
• A foundation of BBSH and Brennan Work is the standard
of ethical practice that is taught and practiced. The ethics
curriculum is designed to enable healers to articulate and stand
strong on their own ethical ground. By honoring and affirming
our personal ethic stand, we recognize it as a place of truth—
a source of power and safety. It also provides a clear, clean
space in which clients are free to experience their true selves.
• Energy blocks and defense systems as manifested in the
Human Energy Field
• Principles of Practice for Brennan Healing Science Practitioners
was written and adopted by the BBSH faculty. Our curriculum
follows this guide to ethical practice. It is included in the
Introduction section of this catalog.
• Observation of the Human Energy Field during process work
Self-Care for the Healer
• The client’s psychodynamics and energy field
• Personal health, well-being, safety and integrity come first in
any professional practice. The care and tuning of the healer’s
physical/energetic body is a vital component of the studies
at BBSH, as well as throughout one’s career as a healer.
• The healer’s psychodynamics and energy field
• Transference, countertransference, listening, contact, boundaries,
and other human relationship skills
Self-Responsibility and Personal Development of Healer
• Basic Object Relations, Family Systems, and Transpersonal
Psychology theory
• Brennan Healing Science theory and application within
the field of psychology
Professionalism
• Over the four years, students learn the practicalities of creating
and maintaining both a professional presence and a healing
practice. Courses include creating a vision for healership, the
healing environment, marketing, record-keeping, and the legal
and financial aspects of private practice.
• Characterology theory
• Personal Process
Teaching Events
• Whole School Healing Meditation
The Integrated Healing Model
• Integrating a hands-on healing practice into the medical/healing
community is a challenging but necessary task if the healer is
to contribute his/her talents freely, and if the clients are to
benefit from the vast array of healing resources available from
traditional and complementary healthcare practices. All of
the courses of the department are geared toward providing
graduating healers with the resources necessary to effectively
practice, communicate, and navigate within the broader
healing community.
