Marla H. Corts Mission School 2022 - Flipbook - Page 7
Faculty and Staff:
On its first day of operation, MHCMS had 7 teachers and 140 students to assemble on its grounds. That number has
risen over the years as the school endeavors to increase the quality and quantity of services provided. This included
adding a nurse to the staff in 2014. Her presence on campus brought relief to both the school and community due to
malaria and other sicknesses that previously required a 9-18 hour walk to Glahn Town for treatment. Now these
sicknesses can be treated on the campus or at least be abated some before sending patients on to Glahn Town for
further treatment. In 2022, the campus has a total of 26 teachers, 11 on the main campus and a total of 15 on its 4
satellite campuses. EGIM’s dedicated staff and team leaders throughout the years have made the success of MHCMS
possible. We appreciate all they have contributed and want to give special appreciation to Mrs. Martha T. Lacky
(Director, 2001-2004); Williams K. Morris (Director,2004-2014); and Philip Richards, (Administrator, current).
Academics
MHCMS takes its curriculum very seriously. Since the school’s inception, the training of its teachers has been ongoing, at first being
executed through the work of volunteer educators from the United States, to then being included in the annual budget in the form
of an annual Teacher’s Refresher workshop. Because of this priority, MHCMS has been able to increase its level of instruction as
well as the subjects taught. Please see the list below of subjects currently taught:
