THE BEGINNING
What is this union you are contemplating? What are the bases for marriage? What
is your role? What role will your mate take? These and several other questions will be
answered as you begin to examine the foundation for a successful marriage. The
premarital sessions are the beginning of the lifelong process of cultivating a loving
relationship, of getting to know one another. The time spent in preparation for these
sessions and the sessions themselves are worthwhile investments in your marriage.
This booklet is designed to aid you in finding out what God says about marriage. It
will allow you to look at your relationship and help you to form realistic expectations for
your marriage. You are asked to complete the session assignments prior to your weekly
meeting. The Session Assignment Sheet outlines the homework for each week. Please
work on these independently, so honest answers will be given. The counselor will provide
time in the session for sharing.
I look forward to the next six sessions we will be spending together. I trust that
