Myriam RogersSuperintendent,Baltimore County Public SchoolsMyriam Rogers recently took the helm ofBaltimore County Public Schools, but sheis no stranger to the county’s classrooms.Rogers got her start in education as a Woodlawn High School chemistry teacher 27years ago.The former deputy superintendentsays that homegrown teaching experienceshapes her approach to leading the system,where she will prioritize student achievement, infrastructure, safety, and recruitingand retaining teachers.“Where I learned about high expectations for students, regardless of any otherfactor, where I learned to love students andteaching, that foundation came from here,”she said.After launching her teaching careerin Baltimore County, Rogers spent twodecades with Montgomery County PublicSchools.
