Carroll County is home to roughly 4,614 business establishments,
employing some 56,578 workers, according to the Maryland
Department of Commerce. Approximately 49.8% of Carroll
countians commute outside the county for jobs. Officials at the
county’s Department of Economic Development are continuing
to work toward attracting new businesses to expand Carroll’s
commercial footprint while also retaining current business and
helping it expand.
Carroll County’s private sector industries generate $6.5 billion in
economic output, according to the Maryland Department of
Commerce.
