Welcome to AXIS Dance Company’s 2024 Home Season!
I am beyond thrilled to share Ecos with you—a special evening
that showcases three world premieres, each exploring the
complexities of the human experience. This program includes
an exciting collaboration with guest artists Post:ballet.
Ecos was born from a desire to delve deeper into the layers
of what makes us human, what connects us, and what propels
us forward. It reflects not just individual experiences but a
shared journey that transcends boundaries, allowing us to
explore the beauty in our differences as well as in our common
ground. From Jorge’s visceral, athletic ‘Blueprints of Being’
in collaboration with Post:ballet, to dazaun’s visionary blend
in the architecture of the gestures in ‘Harmony of Souls’, and
my own piece ‘Piel de Luna’ that invites reflection on our
emotional landscape, each work in Ecos adds its own unique
perspective to this broader conversation.
This season is especially meaningful as it highlights the power
of collaboration and community—two values that are at the
heart of AXIS. Through this process, we’ve come together to
create something that represents our diverse perspectives,
yet is united by a common purpose: to examine, through
movement, what it means to be human.
