Robin Dekkers
Founder, Artistic Director
Named “25 To Watch” by DANCE
Magazine, Robin Dekkers is
Artistic Director of Post:ballet and
Berkeley Ballet, where they’ve
collaborated with organizations
including Kronos Quartet, SF
Girls Chorus, SF Symphony,
Berkeley
Symphony,
and
Berkeley Art Museum to create
original productions. They’ve
choreographed for Atlanta Ballet,
Grand Rapids Ballet, Kansas City
Ballet, Smuin Ballet, and Diablo
Ballet, and have created dance
films for Post including Swan Lake,
Playing Changes, and Waltz of
the Snowflakes. Their film Been
Lovin’ You was screened at SF
Dance Film Festival and at SFO’s
International terminal, and was
featured at Dance On Camera
and Film at Lincoln Center. Lincoln
Center also commissioned Flutter,
a film created with AXIS Dance
Company. Robin’s first full-length
film, Lyra, was commissioned by
SF Performances and presented
at Stanford Live and Yale
Schwarzman Center.
Ali Griffin
Executive Director
Ali Griffin (she/her) is an
administrator and trained dancer
with extensive experience in nonprofit development. Ali trained in
ballet across the US and earned
a B. in literary journalism from
UC Irvine and an MA in magazine
writing from NYU's Arthur L.
Carter Journalism Institute, with
work featured in Cosmopolitan,
Men's Health, and Esquire. In
2012, she joined Berkeley Ballet,
eventually serving as General
Manager before transitioning to
Development Director for Inspire
Youth Project. She then worked
with the San Francisco Symphony
as Manager of Institutional
Partnerships. In 2015, Ali became
Executive Director of Berkeley
Ballet, overseeing its transition
to a 12,500 square foot facility.
Under her leadership, the school
has grown nearly 50%, serving
over 300 families and 850 adult
dancers.
