Trying to change a business and
it’s culture is often likened to
getting an oil tanker to change
course – but as managing
director of Silvey Fleet, Miriam
James notes in conversation
with leading trade publication,
Fuel Oil News, “It’s important to
be ready to adopt and adapt.”
Miriam, who joined the business in
2010, has instilled a new culture
and led the transformation of the
company.
“Our heritage has always been in
supplying fuel – but our mission now
is to be the best fleet management
solution
provider,
supporting
companies in the efficient, and
effective, management of their
fleet operations,” says Miriam.

As a result of this Silvey Fleet is now
helping thousands of companies
to keep their businesses moving
forward.
“Whether it be for transportation of
people or goods, the businesses
we work with rely heavily on their
vehicles, which in turn need fuel,
be it petrol, diesel or electric.
By introducing a range of fleet
management solutions we can
help companies make savings and
improve efficiency,” notes Miriam.
When questioned about the future
Miriam reaffirmed the company’s
mission ‘to be the best fleet
management provider’. “We are a
customer-centric company so we
will always do what the customer
wants. By working with them,
listening to their pain points and
understanding their business, I
know that we can continue to adapt
our fleet management solutions to
suit their everchanging needs.”
One of the most recent changes
has been the increase to the
number of petrol stations Silvet
Fleet can offer through their
network of fuel cards – now 6,800
UK-wide fuel stations.
