MICK GOULD COMMERCIALS & R D AVERYRECOVERY OF THE MONTH20How great it is to see two AVROMembers working together toget a job done - which is exactlywhat R D Avery of Landford andMick Gould Commercials ofFlimwell did.Mick Gould Commercials receiveda call from their customer askingif they could recover a 48T cranethat lay on its side on the A3 inHampshire. After speaking with the Police thatwere on scene they agreed tolet them recover it and that therewas no need for them to call forrecovery.Once on scene the officer incharge told Mick Gould’s thatthey were required to retain thecrane and recover it using theiroperator - working for 3 Policeforces themselves meant thatthey completely understood thesituation and accepted it was howit had to be.R D Avery arrived for the Police anddiscussed the situation with MickGould’s, the task ahead and therequirements of both HampshirePolice and Mick Gould’s customer. It was then decided that bothcompanies would work togetherto get the task done as this wasthe best and quickest option forvarious reasons. They used both rotators for thelift and the Fodens on the catch. The crane was completely deadwith no steering so it was decidedthe best option was to load it ontothe Faymonville trailer, becauseits generous size and width wouldmake loading and unloading muchsafer. The task was completed and theroad was cleared in less than3 hours from arriving on scenewithout any further damage to thecrane and it is now back in theworkshop undergoing repairs. It was a great team effort all roundand was dealt with very amicablyand professionally, whilst alsomeeting the needs of HampshirePolice force and the customer.
