Thisincludes businesses that havecontinued to operate throughoutthe pandemic, those that haverecently reopened and those dueto open in the coming weeks. We are continuing to workclosely with local authorities, assisting them in their targetingof premises in the sectors theyregulate such as hospitality andretail.Duringspotchecksandinspections, we provide guidanceand advice where required, but where businesses aren’tmanaging the risk, action willbe taken. This can range fromthe provision of specific advice, issuing enforcement notices andstopping certain work practicesuntil they are made safe. Wherebusinesses fail to comply, thiscould lead to prosecution.12The COVID-secure measuresbusinesses should have in placeinclude:•••••••Risk assessment: everyworkplace should have aCOVID risk assessment.Update it to reflect anychanges in legislation orguidance that may impactyour work activity.Social distancing: wherepossible you should keeppeople two metres apart.
