MOT Tester training for class 1 &
2 vehicles.
Experienced technicians who
would like to become an MOT
tester can take this three-day
course (plus 15 hours of selfstudy) in order to qualify as an
MOT tester for class 1 & 2 vehicles.
This will then enable them to
apply to the DVSA to become
authorised.
Participants will learn:
• Relevant acts and regulations
• Tools for the job
• When you can refuse to begin
a test
• Use of the testing manual
• Standards and procedures
• Documentation and security
• Use of the online MOT testing
service
• Routine inspection
• Classes of vehicle
To be eligible for this course,
technicians must have:
• at least 4 years’ full-time
employment in the service and
repair of class 1 & 2 vehicles
• a current and full UK driving
•
licence for class 1 & 2 vehicles
no criminal offences connected
with the motor trade, violence
or intimidation
