To say he was flabbergastedwas an understatement. In 1983 at the endof my tenure as Chairman, myAVRO-EX exhibition and AGMheld at the Chateau Impney. I was Vice Chairman, Brian Drury wasVice Chairman at the time, sitting duly elected Chairman with JohnWooldridge supporting Brian ason the top table between TerryCrompton our Chairman and John Vice Chairman.Wells our Director General. DuringDuring this time John had becomeany other business, a big fella atthe back of the room, attended by a notable magistrate, sitting onabout 90 members, started asking the bench with distinction, inhis local community.
