World Autism Awareness Month: Partnering for Progress
features that enhance the Quality of Life of its members. It will
move toward weekday activities as it harnesses more resources in
funds and volunteers.
On 12 April, Autism Association (Singapore)’s Eden Centre for
Adults (Clementi) held its open house. The Centre shared about
their individualised programme, which caters to the unique needs
and abilities of each adult client, hoping to shed light on the diversity
of individuals on the autism spectrum, as well as to seed new
partnerships and support for autistic individuals and their families.

As part of World Autism Awareness Day, Autism Network
Singapore (ANS) ran open houses for representatives of various
organisations keen on exploring partnerships to enhance support
for individuals with autism.
Autism Awareness Month serves as a powerful reminder of the
importance of acceptance, understanding, and inclusion. By coming
together, we can create a world where everyone is valued for their
unique contributions and where individuals with autism can fluorish.
ANS is an alliance of five social service agencies which serves over
5,000 individuals from birth to adulthood. Themed “Partnering for
Progress”, this year’s campaign calls for mainstream institutions
such as public agencies, employers, corporations and schools to
take a more proactive stance to learn ways to support autistic
individuals through different life stages in the community.
As a prelude to the open houses, ANS hosted a media session
on 27 March at St Andrew’s Autism Centre. During this session,
Autism Association (Singapore) launched the Eden Friendship Club
(previously known as Eden Activity Club), which aims to meet
some of the key pivotal needs of adults on the autism spectrum
such as health, relationships and leisure.
The new EFC will offer carefully curated activities with individualised
support to meet these needs. The revamped weekly Saturday
programme is designed to also offer interesting and intentional
