A Heartfelt Collaboration with Volunteers from Sulzer Singapore
Eden Centre for Adults (ECFA) has always sought new partners
to engage with and contribute to impacting the lives of our adult
clients. In 2023, the centres welcomed Sulzer Singapore as they
organised a memorable trip to the Science Centre Singapore. This
enriching experience allowed our clients to enjoy and learn from
various science exhibits, with Sulzer volunteers supporting them
throughout the day.
Since the outing in 2023, Sulzer expressed their interest in continuing
the partnership, and true to their word, they reconnected with
us for a regular volunteering programme in 2024 to support our
existing programmes within the centre. 20 volunteers – 10 in
Hougang and 10 in Clementi – were assigned for three sessions per
month in April, July, and October.

During the April session, volunteers engaged in activities such
as BazGym fitness, arts & crafts, music & movement, and meal
preparation. This experience was eye-opening for the volunteers,
as they spent the morning learning about our clients’ unique needs.
They also learned how to assist with tray tasks and portable
schedules, gaining insight into the abilities of our clients.
We eagerly anticipate the next round of volunteering by Sulzer.
Their commitment to our cause and the genuine bonds formed
during these sessions are truly heartwarming.

Your contributions are invaluable in creating a more inclusive and
enriching environment for individuals with autism.
