nicknamed the Nobs and the Snobs. Separate villages
developed, which are still distinguishable today. The Cornish

and the English in Hampton, each village having separate shops
and facilities. We continue on to Broken Hill

to Bells Milk Bar for a real taste of the 1950’s. After lunch, a
tour around the Royal Flying Doctor Visitor Centre. The RFDS at
Broken Hill is the only working base in Australia that is open to
the public. We take a look at the Line Of Lode Miner’s

in 1889 the hotel is famous for its many murals and its
connection to the Australian iconic movie Pricilla Queen of the
Desert.
Day 4 We start the day with the Albert Kerten Mining Museum
before heading out to the outback ghost town of Silverton. We visit
the famous Silverton Hotel, Gaol Museum, Old School House and
the galleries, finishing the day with the Mundi Mundi Lookout
where the plains stretch out for an eternity.
Day 5 There are more galleries than pubs in Broken Hill these days
and we visit the Pro Hart and Jack Absalom Galleries. Some free
time in town today. A stop at the Silver City Mint & Art Centre to
view The Big Picture. Late afternoon we head to the Sculpture
Symposium for a dusk viewing.
