STÖLZLE LAUSITZ’S ECOLOGICAL RESPONSIBILITY.
Responsible action and careful use of resources—these are the keys to the future. Therefore,
from the extraction of raw materials to production and delivery, Stölzle makes sure the
environment is affected as little as possible. Almost all of Stölzle’s products are manufactured
in their own factory in Weisswasser and thereby MADE IN GERMANY. Most of the raw
materials required to produce the glassware comes from this region. In this way, Stölzle
can keep transport distances short. In addition, Stölzle works with regional suppliers when
purchasing machines, other materials and packaging.
Stölzle Lausitz glasses are 100% lead-free and do not contain any other harmful substances.
This means Stölzle’s glasses are easily recyclable. Any glass that does not meet Stölzle’s
strict quality standards goes back into the production cycle.
As an active participant in the EU Emission Trading Scheme, Stölzle is diligent in finding
state-of-the art technologies to reduce the greenhouse gases coming from the glass factories
and improve energy efficiency via new management systems recently introduced. Since
2020, Stölzle has significantly reduced the gas consumption and CO2 emissions all the while
increasing efficiency in the production of glassware.
THINK GREEN
The water-cooling system in production is fed by rainwater collected in a cistern. This means
Stölzle could dispense with the use of drinking water. Using the waste heat generated during
production allows Stölzle to heat all the buildings and the water for the social wing, thereby
eliminating other energy sources.
